so, to go along with my goals for the year, I also established a 101 in 1001 list and I am so stoked for it! i just need to get a counter... Chw got all sorts of jealous, so he set one up too and I think he plans to blog his progress. not sure... I am begging you now- jump over to his list and encourage him. He sort of lacks in follow through, sometimes. I guess he's easily discouraged- or what not...
Anyway, I've also had tons of emails about my goal of starting a cooking blog. Not ready to do that yet, but I am doing a 365 photo/gratitude journal. The links for those sights are all there, to the left. Check em out. :)
On the first I posted my 2009 Resolution/Goal list... I've maintained one from 2008, but not on here. I thought, since I'm obligated to post everyday and all, that I'd CHANGE that and show it here so you can see how I did...
What do you think?
2008 Resolution/Goal list...
Family and Friends
- find unique and sincere ways to acknowledge the birthdays of my friend's without coming off as cliche' or Hallmark-like.
- be so much better at sending notes in the mail. This used to be my strength and I miss it!
- to use an entire book of stamps, per month, on correspondence. (January;) (February;)(March)(April)(June)(September)(October)(November)(December)
- find a sentimental/signature gift that I can make for my friend's who have new babies.
- never leave cause for my friends or family to have to question my love for them. (Ongoing)
- spend the year laughing with them, and making wonderful memories... (Ongoing)
- be intentional about my relationships with others.
- have a "girl friend" retreat - and, nope. didn't happen.
- stand in support of anything those I love take on. (Ongoing)
Cooking/Food
- bake for others biweekly.(January)(February) (March)(April)(May)(June)(July)(August)(September)(October)(November)<December)
- make a new recipe at least once a week.(January)(February)(March)(April)(May)(June)(July)(August)(September)(October)(November)
- make a meal plan routine, and stick to it.
- reduce the amount of time I spend at the supermarket.

- find a local co-op to join for more affordable organic food. and, nope. I did try though. the key word here, proving to be difficult, is affordable.
- actually use my entertaining journal this year.
- can 12 different types of fruits or concoctions this summer. Ha! pretty much I made Apple Butter. That was it. FAILURE...
- try a new restaurant every month and try something I've never tried before.(January)(February) (March)(April)(June)(September)(November)(December)
Body/Health/Mind
- get the tattoo. I totally intended to, but honestly when was there time? Not so much for the tattoo as the healing of it.
- give up soda. and i totally did. For 4 months. then I reclaimed it.

- figure out an office space that works well.
- fold and put away laundry as it finishes in the dryer. ehem...
- plant a garden.
- begin photo projects.
- pull entire dining room set into yard, this summer, and have a fancy outdoor dinner party! never did this, and i am really dissapointed about that too! If Chw had a list like this, however, his would have said "stop Misty from pulling dining room set into yard for yet another party." so, at least one of us could feel accomplished. :(
- make new slipcovers for my PB pillows

- buy a sewing machine.
- refuse to take part in retail therapy. if only I'd had the hindsight to say "take part in retail therapy MUCH LESS than in 2007". DARN IT...

May I say that I am truly impressed!!?? I remember this list from the EARLY part of the year, and I thought HOLY COW, this girl's got some motivation tucked away somewhere! Deep down, I knew you could do it if'n ya wanted to. And you did! Well, you did LOTS of it! HUGE BIG FAT Kudos to you. And... you have inspired me to do a list of my own. I am grateful for that. At the very least I can look back next year and say, see... I did SOMETHING on my list.
You are a freakin' inspiration, woman!
seriously... when I saw your 2009 list, I was kinda thinking... man... she's setting herself up for failure. But I see now that you are totally an accomplisher!
I'm super impressed, and I have a lot of faith in your abilities to continue meeting your goals in 2009.
I might even sit down and think of my own goals, after all. :)
thanks girls... I'm not entirely impressed when I see what I didn't do- but we are hardest on ourselves...
You are so awesome! That is why I love calling you my friend!
YOU are SO good with lists! And follow through.
I am so glad that I was a part of your 2008 list.
Here's to another, better, year!
how awesome is that??? Great job! i'm jealous! lol i need to make my list better!
Wow. Very ambitious list. You did so well!
I think you did awesomely!!
That said, you need more baths, sweetie. They're my savior!
If you need some inspiration, I'd love to send you some Lush bath things to get you going!
WOW
I didn't achieve any of my goals!
What an inspiring list! I keep a lot of little lists floating around, but it would be so helpful to make a list of this sort. I do have a 101 blog, which I enjoy but haven't worked on it for a while.
Thank you for your comment on my post about Seattle, it is always exciting to get's comments from people I don't know in real life. :)
What a great list! I am inspired.
After re-reading more closely: I am sorry about the difficulties you've faced with your family this year. It sounds like you accomplished an awful lot. The one thing I was sad to see you missed was a girlfriend retreat. I encourage you to try for that this year. I have been going to the beach with a group of six women for a few days every year for the past 12 years and it is so necessary for me. I hope you reach all of your goals this year!
After reading your very well thought out aspirations I am almost ashamed by the list I threw together spur of the moment. Can I just say that I am absolutely in awe not only that you put these things on paper (or computer screen - same thing) to begin with but that you came so far in accomplishing them. I love the list. And I'm curious as to the signature gift you came up with for friends who had babies. I would love to have something like that. Even if it is a 'borrowed' idea...
Soda is my krytponite!
